Jhansi: At least 41 new Covid cases were reported in Jhansi on Thursday. With this, the total number of active positive cases has gone up to 73. Out of the cases, four were admitted in Jhansi Medical College, nine in Military Hospital, 59 under home isolation while one is from another state.
As per the medical bulletin issued by Jhansi CMO, Dr Anil Kumar, on Tuesday 4786 tests were conducted in which 41 were detected positive. These included 24 males and 17 females including two 16-year-old girls. Of these, ten cases have been reported from Army Cantonment while one from Judge’s residential compound.
On the other hand, six new cases of Covid were reported from Lalitpur district on Thursday with the total number of active positive cases rising to 14.
Seeing the sudden rise in cases, commissioner Jhansi division, Ajay Shankar Pandey issued instructions to the authorities for ensuring more testing along with following of Covid safety protocols. He also requested various traders’ associations not to allow the market places to be overcrowded.
He also asked for intensifying the vaccination of children of 15-18 years age group.
