Two Sisters Killed As Ambulance Rams Into Truck On Agra E-way | Kanpur News


KANPUR: Two sisters, one of them discharged from AIIMS in Delhi, were killed when the ambulance carrying them to Mirzapur rammed into a truck on Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Etawah on Friday. The driver of the ambulance, has been admitted to the University of Medical Sciences, Saifai in a critically injured condition.
The accident took place at channel no: 133 of the expressway under Usrahar police station, near Kudrail, from where the route is further linked to Bundelkhand Expressway. The ambulance was heading to Mirzapur with 22-year-old patient Aastha Singh, daughter of Krishankant, a resident of Jalalpur Mawaiya, Mirzapur after she was discharged from AIIMS, Delhi. She was accompanied by her sister, Aditi (19). The collision was so severe that the front part of the ambulance blew up.
On being informed, the outpost in-charge of the expressway, Dev Chandra and the police force reached the spot and pulled out both sisters who were trapped in ambulance, but by then they had died. Driver Brajendra Singh was seriously injured.
SHO Usrahar Gangadas Gautam said that the ambulance was going to Mirzapur from AIIMS Delhi. The condition of the ambulance driver is critical, he said.
