Three Buildings Of June 3 Violence Accused Sealed | Kanpur News

Kanpur: Police and Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) on Sunday sealed the properties of three accused who were found to be involved in the violence at Parade and adjoining areas in the city after Friday prayers on June 3.
Police officials have started taking punitive action against people who had played some role in the violence.
Following the ongoing probe, police on Sunday identified three accused, namely Salim alias Johnnie Walker, Haji Wasi and HS Malik.
After a scrutiny of the properties of the three accused, police sealed an under construction building of Salim at Vishwanath Khatri Ka Hata in Beconganj since its map had not been sanctioned.
The KDA team also sealed a building owned by Haji Wasi in front of ESI hospital at Wajidpur in Chakeri. One property of HS Malik was sealed in Chamanganj area, said officials, adding that further action will be taken on these properties soon. “Haji Wasi was found to be funding violence mastermind Hayat Zafar Hashmi while the role of the remaining two is being investigated,” said police officials. Meanwhile, KDA public relations officer S B Rai said, “The buildings have been sealed and posters have been pasted on them. Any trespassing or breaking the seal would invite legal proceedings.”
The sealed premises were handed over to police for custody. The police commissioner has been informed that in case the seal of any building is broken, then the SHO of the area can take necessary action against the guilty person. The commissioner has been requested to deploy a police force near the sealed premises. Rai informed that KDA had sealed eight properties on May 28,2022 but the building owners broke the seal and restarted construction. KDA filed a complaint at the respective police stations against the offenders following which FIRs were lodged under appropriate sections of IPC.
