Tax Notices Served On Owner Of Building Housing Dei Office | Kanpur News

Kanpur: After Kanpur Development Authority (KDA), which had issued a notice regarding illegal construction of the office of Dawat-e-Islami (DeI) at plot number 101/233 in Chhote Mian in Colonelganj, now the Municipal Corporation and Jalkal department have given notice of outstanding house and water tax on Monday.
Two notices, one from the Municipal Corporation and other from Jalkal department have been pasted on the building on Monday, informed official sources.
The office of DeI, housed in a multi-storey building in Chhote Miyan Ka Hata in Colonelganj police area of the city, had already come under the scanner of KDA.
After an inspection by the KDA team, the first notice under section 27 was issued to the land owner on Thursday last when he failed to show the map of the building.
It also came to fore that the land owner has not yet submitted the documents with regard to the map of the building. The last date for submission for the same is July 29. After this, the action of sealing and demolition will be done.
The enforcement in-charge of zone four of the Municipal Corporation, Swarn Singh, has given notice of outstanding house tax to the landowners of DeI office. As per the incharge, tax of Rs 60265 is due. “If the tax is not paid in the Municipal Corporation office within a fortnight, an attachment warrant should be issued for recovery of the amount,” he said.
Similarly, SK Gupta, executive engineer, Jalkal has also issued a notice of recovery of Rs 78,669 as water tax. In this, Rs 75,067 is outstanding, the rest is the bill of the current financial year. “We will disconnect water connections for non-payment of dues,” said Gupta further.
