Son Of A Farmer Tops Up Board Exam | Kanpur News

Kanpur: Prince Patel, topper of UP board class X, aspires to be a military officer. He aims to join National Defence Academy to become an officer. Talking to TOI, Prince said that he had thought of scoring more than 95 percent marks but had never imagined to top the state. A resident of Bindiki in Fatehpur, Patel scored 97.67 percent and emerged as state topper.
A student of Anubhav Inter College in Ghatampur Tehsil of Kanpur Nagar, Prince said that the violent protest by students across India is not the correct way. He said that the students, upon disagreeing with a particular government step or policy, should protest but in a peaceful manner.
“Setting buses and trains and other public and private infrastructure on fire is not the right way to protest. Though I don’t know much about the newly launched ‘Agnipath’ scheme and I have to study it myself but actions that can cause loss of life or damage to people cannot be supported or appreciated in any way,” said Prince while talking to TOI.
Son of farmer who owns 10 bighas of agricultural land in Fatehpur district of UP, Prince said that his father Ajay Kumar and mother Shivkanti Devi always pushed him for pursuing education. He said that both his parents are graduates and that his father wanted him to study in Kanpur and do well.
“He got me admission in Anubhav Inter College in class 6. Since it’s a residential school, I stayed in a hostel here. My study schedule was simple. I used to do self-study after school for about four-five hours. Six hours of classes plus self-study was sufficent to prepare the syllabus. When I used to get tired I used to go to the ground for a while. This result is a pleasant one, beyond my expectation,” he added. He said that he has opted for science stream in class XI and would continue studying in the same school for two more years after which he shall prepare for NDA.
“I could not check my exam result on my own as the board website was loading very slow. My friend who could somehow check the result informed me that I have topped the exam. It was unbelievable for a while,” he said.
School principal, Ramesh Chandra Patel said that two more students – Raj Yadav and Shiva- from their school have found place among top 10 positions in the state merit list. While Raj is at 8th spot, Shiva bagged 9th position.
