Shivpal, Son Stage Sit-in Against Removal Of Contractual Workers | Kanpur News

Kanpur: National president of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSPL) Shivpal Yadav on Tuesday evening sat on a ‘dharna’ in protest against the removal of 600 contractual workers working in Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences in Saifai, Etawah.
Shivpal along with his son and state president of PSPL, Aditya Yadav, sat on the dharna with the employees.
Shivpal promised employees that justice will be delivered to them.
“It was Mulayam Singh’s dream to build this university. We will not let this go to waste,” said Shivpal further.
Thereafter, Shivpal called the vice-chancellor Professor Prabhat Kumar Singh at the site of the dharna and asked him to find a way out, but in vain.
He further said that he had spoken to the concerned minister over phone and will now meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to get the problem resolved. He said that the university authorities were determined to ruin it.
Shivpal in a veiled attack at his nephew and Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav, said only they were to be blamed for Saifai’s plight. While addressing the employees, Shivpal said, “Tell me, if we had our own government, we would not have had to see this day.”
Shivpal further said, “Everyone knows why the government was not formed, we had settled on only one seat, yet what should I do if they could not form the government. If we had been given the responsibility for only one seat in each division and provided a helicopter, then 20 thousand votes would have increased in each assembly.”
