Return Of Judicial Control Of 2 Tehsils: Govt Asks To Issue Notification | Kanpur News

KANPUR: The state government has asked registrar-general, Allahabad high court, to issue a notification regarding return of judicial control of Ghatampur and Bilhaur tehsils in Kanpur Nagar district.
Arun Kumar, under-secretary UP government in his letter dated May 17, 2022 had asked the registrar-general to take necessary steps for execution of the notification regarding return of judicial control of the two tehsils in Kanpur Nagar district at the earliest.
The judicial control of the two tehsils—Ghatampur and Bilhaur—had been shifted to Kanpur Dehat district in 2013 but their administrative control remained vested in Kanpur Nagar district.
The advocates of Kanpur, under the banner of Adhivakta Sangharsh Samiti, had been agitating to bring back the judicial control of the two tehsils in Kanpur Nagar district, and after their six long years struggle the governor, on state government recommendation, issued a notification bringing back the judicial control of Ghatampur and Bilhaur tehsils in Kanpur Nagar.
According to the convener of the Sangharsh Samiti, Ravindra Sharma, the samiti had given a memorandum to the governor of the state and urged him to issue the said notification.
Recently, the governor in a letter sent to the state government asked it to issue the notification in its spirit after which the latter through a letter to the registrar-general of the Allahabad high court asked him to implement the same.
The advocates and litigants now believe that notification issued to return the judicial control of the two tehsils would take place soon and the files of the cases sent back to Kanpur Nagar courts, said senior-vice-president of Kanpur Bar Association Anoop Shukla. The KBA officials and several advocates have expressed hope that the jurisdiction of the two tehsils would come back soon and help a lot to the litigants and the advocates.
