Ara: A farmers’ fair was organized on the premises of Krishi Vigyan Kendra here under Kisan Bhagidari-Prathmikta Hamari campaign organised by the ministry for agriculture and the farmers’ welfare from April 25 to 30 in the country as part of the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ .
State agriculture minister Amrendra Pratap Singh participated in the programme via virtual mode. Addressing the gathering, the minister said such programmes will help the farmers learn about the benefits of natural farming, enhancement of coarse grains production and nutritionally enhanced biofortified crops.
Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar, while addressing the farmers, said: “With a view to increase the income of the farmers, stress is being laid on the promotion of the drone technology, natural farming, enhancement of the coarse grains production and nutritionally enhanced biofortified crops. The farmers are being provided the benefits of ‘Kisan Samman Nidhi’ with full transparency. The Prime Minister has a vision that Indian farmers have the ability to feed the whole world.”
P K Dwivedi, senior scientist and head of Bhojpur KVK, said farmers from all the 14 blocks of Bhojpur district participated in the fair. A kisan credit card camp was also organized on the occasion. Various stalls related to mushroom farming and soil testing lab were also put up there. A farmers’ conference was also held to discuss the enhancement of coarse grains production, the management of crops residues, land conservative and natural farming.
