Potable Water Scarcity In Village, Dm Takes Action | Kanpur News


Kanpur: Taking cognizance of potable water scarcity in village Padri Lalpur, district magistrate Neha Sharma took action against executive engineer Jal Nigam and executive engineer Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam and ordered to stop disbursement of their salary till further order. She asked them to resume water supply within a week.
Earlier, during the gram chaupal in Patara block, the villagers of Padri Lalpur village complained that they were not getting potable water supply. Taking action against Devashish, village development officer of Padri Lalpur village, the DM ordered to give him adverse entry in his CR for giving a wrong report about reboring of hand pumps in the village. Similarly, she warned ADO Patara block for dereliction of duty.
The DM suspended sanitation worker Mahesh Kumar of Kumhedia village for poor sanitation, she also ordered a special adverse entry in CR of Abhishek Kumar, village development officer of Kumhedia village for not monitoring construction of lavatories in the village. Similarly, she ordered to give adverse entry to Shaily Rathore, gram panchayat officer of Raipur village for poor sanitation work in the village.
During the chaupal, Seema, president of Jai Bajrang Bali self-help group, told the DM that her financial condition improved a lot after she got associated with this self-help group. She said she can now give proper education to her children.
The district magistrate told the women that the government had launched the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) scheme to make women self-dependent and financially strong. Under this scheme, 10-20 women make a group and then banks provide them financial assistance to make their products and sell them.
