Police Yuva Mitra Concept Launched In City | Kanpur News

Kanpur: In order to make City’s security system Smart and to prevent recurrence of June 3 type of violence, the Commissionerate police launched a concept of ‘Police Yuva Mitra’ on Wednesday at Reserve Police Lines. Youths will be motivated to join the police by holding Mohalla meetings to become ‘Police Yuva Mitra’, reports Faiz Siddiqui.
The reason behind making ‘Police Yuva Mitra’ for better coordination in the police area and to establish communication with the local people and to maintain law and order and communal harmony. Identity cards will also be issued and from time to time the police will meet the ‘Yuva Mitra’and tell them about their role in society building. These youths will work on the lines of members of the Peace Committee and Civil Defence. “These ‘Police Yuva Mitra’ will work like the hands, eyes and ears of police. Along with taking care of law and order, they will participate in important occasions and festivals,” informed Commissioner of Police Vijay Singh Meena, who added, “The Kanpur City will be the first district of the state where the concept of ‘Police Yuva Mitra’ is being launched.” Meena said that efforts will be to connect minimum 50 to maximum 100 youths with one police station. “They will be selected by a team of police officers, who will address then and the selected youths will be issued identity cards,” he said. tnn
