The traffic on Kanpur-Lucknow Highway remained disrupted for long after the accident. The jam which started from early hours of morning continued to pose hardships for commuters till 8am.
Police rushed to the spot and sent the critically injured driver and attendant to Kanshi Ram Trauma Centre where doctors declared the attendant dead and referred the driver to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital.
The driver Asif, a resident of Chhataini, Pukhrayan in Kanpur Dehat, had left for Unnao with his attendant Anant Tiwari (24), a resident of Ghatamapur, in a dumper when their vehicle rammed a stationary truck carrying pulses.
