Nitish, Tejashwi Attendiftar Hosted By Jd(u) | Patna News

PATNA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar, BJP leader and deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad and leader of opposition in the state assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, among others attended the iftar hosted by JD(U) minority cell at Haj Bhawan on Thursday.
This was for the second time in a week that Nitish and Tejashwi were together in such an event. On last Friday, Nitish had attended the iftar hosted by the RJD first family.
But the sitting arrangement at Thursday’s iftar was made in such a way that Nitish was alone on a sofa with Tarkishore on his left side and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi on his right side. Tejashwi was seated with JD(U) national president Rajiv Ranjan alias Lallan Singh. Tejashwi’s elder brother Tej Prata was seated next to Manjhi.
Though the chacha, bhatija were at distance in this iftar, the bonhomie between them could be seen therafter. Both not only came out together, but Nitish also made sure to give a warm see off to Tejashwi and waited till he entered into his car.
JD(U) minority cell president Salim Pervez, who had organised this iftar, denied anything political in the event. “Bihar is the mother of democracy and this iftar has set the example of what a healthy democracy is all about. Whatever be the ideology, we celebrate festivals together,” Pervez told TOI over the phone.
He further said nearly 3000 people attended this iftar. Among the other senior leaders, former minister Nand Kishore Yadav and Congress leaders Ajit Sharma and Madan Mohan Jha also attended the iftar.
However, this iftar series in the political corridor does not seem to end soon. Former CM Manjhi has also organised an iftar at his Strand Road bungalow on Friday.
HAM (S) spokesperson Danish Rizwan said leaders cutting across the party lines have been invited.
