Mobile App Of City Metro Launched | Kanpur News

Kanpur: With the objective of making the Metro services on the nine km long priority section from IIT-Kanpur to Motijheel more efficient and convenient for the commuters, Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC) Sushil Kumar today launched the official mobile app of Kanpur Metro.
In an event organized at Motijheel Metro station on Tuesday, Sushil Kumar presented the app to the Metro commuters and also explained all the features of the app. During the event, senior Metro officials presented live demo of Metro ticket booking through official mobile app. Named ‘Kanpur Metro’, this app is available on both ‘Android’ and ‘iOS’ platforms.
Android users can download the Kanpur Metro mobile app from the ‘Google Play Store’ and Apple IOS users can download the Kanpur Metro mobile app from the ‘App Store’. After downloading the app, the user has to register on the app with his mobile number and email. Metro commuters can now book tickets on ‘Kanpur Metro’ app itself. After booking the ticket, a QR code will be generated on the app. Users will be able to enter the station and travel in the metro by scanning this QR code at the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gate of the Metro station. Users can also view booking and transaction history on the app itself.
The app also has features to view the nearest Metro station and route between stations. Group tickets can also be booked with the help of the app. Group tickets can be booked for a minimum of five people and a maximum of 20 people. Kumar also performed Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of second Receiving Sub Station (RSS) of Kanpur Metro at Phoolbagh.
