Minor Raped In Kanpur Dehat, Accused Detained | Kanpur News


KANPUR: Police arrested an 18-year-old youth for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl in a village in Knapur Dehat district on Monday.
The girl’s mother said her daughter was playing outside the house on Monday afternoon and did not return. Later, on hearing her shrieks, the family members and neighbours rushed to a nearby secluded place and found her with scratches on her body.
The girl was profusely bleeding, after which she was admitted to the district hospital.
Additional superintendent of police Ghanshyam Chaurasia reached the place along with police force and took full detail about the incident from the local police and the family members. The relatives of the accused with whom the minor was last spotted, were also questioned. They told investigators that the youth Rohit, who stays in the nearby area had come to their house on Monday morning.
When the relatives of the accused were questioned about his whereabouts, they informed that he had been missing.
After this a massive hunt was carried out in and around the village. Later, two teams of police were deployed for the arrest of the accused.
After getting the clue, he was caught from a ‘dhaba’ at Kanpur-Etawah highway. The police took him to the police station for questioning.
The ASP said that a case has been registered against accused for rape under the POCSO Act. “Medical report of the girl is awaited. The accused will be sent to jail,” the ASP added.
