Kanpur: Pramila Pandey mayor Kanpur on Tuesday visited the diarrhoea affected localities of Rawatpur area and heard the problems of local residents.The mayor distributed 25 litre potable water cans free of cost to the residents and asked them to drink water only from cans and water supplied by the tankers of Kanpur Municipal corporation. Pandey visited each lane of affected localities and asked about the health of residents.
Dhanukana, Gajodharpur and Loharan Bhatta area of Sarvodaya Nagar areas are badly affected with diarrhoea nowadays and the health department has concentrated its activities there.The district administration too is taking care of those areas. As many as 78 diarrhoea patients were found in Rawatpur village and one person named as Vinay had died due to diarrohea. Others are being treated.
The Mayor appealed to keep a distance from polluted water .Kanpur Municipal corporation had managed water tankers and used the water provided by the tankers. She also asked them for sanitation and suggested they take ORS and other medicines from the medical camp so that people could save themselves from diarrhoea.
Later talking to media persons, the mayor said KMC was waiting for the examination report of water samples and thereafter it would take appropriate measures.
