Man Shoots Daughter, Ends Life In Farrukhabad Dist | Kanpur News

Kanpur: A 40-year-old sweetmeat shop owner allegedly killed himself after shooting his 15-year-old daughter on Thursday morning in Farrukhabad district.
The man took the drastic step as he was reportedly reeling under huge debt, besides suffered huge losses in his business. However, the exact reason has not been confirmed yet. The incident took place in Mohalla Pasar Gaddha in Yaqut Ganj area of the district. The deceased was identified as Pramod Kumar Rajput while his daughter has been identified as Muskan. Pramod had been running a sweetmeat shop and was reeling under huge debt, besides had suffered huge losses in his business as per his family members. No suicide note however has been recovered from the spot, said the police. Pramod used to live in the second storey of his house with his family. On Thursday, he first shot his minor daughter Muskan with a country-made gun in the room. After killing the daughter, he later pulled the trigger of the gun on himself. He too later succumbed to wounds.
On the information, additional superintendent of police Ajay Pratap, CO City Pradeep Singh, inspector-in-charge JP Pal, Yakutganj outpost in-charge Prashant Kumar and field unit team rushed to the spot and took possession of the gun, besides the bodies. “We are questioning the family as to what exactly prompted Pramod to resort to such an extreme step,” said CO City Pradeep Singh.
