Man Gets Jail For Kidnapping Minor | Kanpur News

Kanpur: Additional district judge Kanpur Nagar, Akhileshwar Prasad Mishra on Saturday convicted accused Bhanu Kaithwar to four years rigorous imprisonment and with a fine of Rs 10,000 for house trespass and kidnaping a minor.
According to ADGC Vinod Kumar Tripathi, Mohd Islam, a resident of Barra- 6 alleged in his complaint that at on September 16, 2009 around 7.30 pm he had gone to the dentist. His wife Shahnaz Begum and children were in the house. Accused Bhanu Kaithwar along with his two friends reached there and kidnapped his two-year-old son Noor and tried to run away with him. Local residents chased and caught him and handed him over to the police. The police charged him under sections 364 and 452 IPC but during the trial the court observed that it was a case of section 363 /452 IPC and tried the case, the ADGC said.
During the trial, the prosecution produced as many as seven witnesses along with Shahnaz Begum who stated on oath that her husband was a coal trader who used to earn handsome money. The accused had trespassed her house with the intention of loot or ransom. The defence produced accused Bhanu Kaithwar’s father Asharfi Lal who stated that Islam was a resident of his village while Bhanu was his employee. He had implicated Bhanu in kidnapping case so that he should not pay his salary.
The court while convicting Bhanu Kaithwar observed in its order that if he failed to pay the fine then he would have to serve one more month jail term. tnn
