Locals Block Road After 2 Die In Accident | Kanpur News

Kanpur: Traffic came to a standstill on the Kanpur-Sagar highway near Makranv village in Hamirpur district on Tuesday after locals staged a road blockade to protest against a road accident involving a truck in which two persons were killed. The driver fled with the truck after the accident. The deceased were identified as Shivraj (72) of Maudaha and Vipin (30) of Lalpura. Witnesses said Shivraj was returning home from the farm. Meanwhile, a truck coming from Mahoba’s side ran over him. He suffered injuries and died on the spot. After this, the truck driver, who was trying to escape, also crushed Vipin, who was changing the tyre of his truck, a few steps away from the accident site. Due to which he also died. The police on being informed rushed to the spot and pacified the agitating family members of the deceased. CO (City) Vivek Yadav said that two persons died in the accident. “Efforts are now being made to arrest the absconding driver of the truck,” CO said further.
