Locals, Bd Protest After ‘radha Krishna’ Tiles Put On Toilet Wall | Kanpur News

Kanpur: Tension prevailed in Keshavpuram locality of the city after a video of Keshav Vatika, a park in the locality, showing tiles on walls of toilet in the park carrying pictures of ‘Radha Krishna’ and ‘rasleela’ went viral on social media on Thursday.
However, the tiles were later painted in white to hide the pictures by Awas Vikas officials after objections were raised on the video. The volunteers of Bajrang Dal raised a strong objection.
The park has been developed and maintained by Awas Vikas. The park has separate toilets for men and women. Tiles having pictures of ‘Radha Krishna’ were placed on the wall of the women’s toilet. Someone made a video and posted it on social media.
After the video went viral, locals informed district convener of Bajrang Dal Naresh Tomar. Later, Bajrang Dal volunteers demanded the officials to remove the tiles from the wall. In a quick action, the Awas Vikas officials painted the tiles in white to hide the pictures.
The guard of the park, Kedar Singh said that mason and labourers had wrongly placed the tiles on the toilet walls.
According to the authorities who take care of the park, the mason and labourers had inadvertently put the wrong tiles on the wall of the toilet during the construction work, which has now been removed.
