Kanpur: Prabkirat Singh of The Chintels School has done Kanpur city proud by figuring among 18 students who have scored all-India first rank. He and other 17 students have scored 99.75 percent marks in class XII board exams the result of which was declared by Indian School Certificate (ISC) on Sunday evening.
Talking to TOI an elated Prabkirat said, “I was not expecting these much marks. Neither I had thought of topping the exam. I was just confident of doing well, ” Prabkirat said. He has scored 399 marks out of 400. In class X, he had secured 98.6 percent.
Soon after the announcement of the result, Prabkirat was surrounded by his school friends and teachers. Everyone was congratulating him. Teachers heaped praises on his parents – Harpreet Singh and Amit Kaur. The parents were elated and thanked Prabkirat ’s teachers for shaping his career. Prabkirat said that he had scored 99.95 percentile in JEE Mains and is now aiming to crack JEE Advanced so that he can seek admission in any top IIT. “I wish to study at IIT. I wish to pursue B-Tech Computer Science. After a small hiatus, I shall start working to prepare for JEE Advanced which is scheduled to be held on 28 August”, said Prabkirat while talking to TOI.
Asked about his daily schedule, he said that he used to study for two-three hours in one go and then used to take break and then study again.
“I am insipired by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. I have read about him. Rest I have no interest in politics and therefore, have no knowledge about it”, he said. He also revealed that her younger sister who is currently in class X in the same school a great source of inspiration. “My younger sister Sukhjot assisted me everytime I needed her help. This helped me a lot to prepare well” Prabkirat said. Director, The Chintels School, Dr Kavisha Khurana Vij said, “Prabkirat’s feat is remarkable. Efforts of students, teachers have paid off well.”
