Kanpur: The visitors gallery of the Green Park stadium added one more feather in its cap on Friday when it was equipped with Virtual Cricket Simulator (VCS). It was set up by Kanpur Smart City.
The VCS can be used both for practising cricket and for sports entertainment purposes.
The trial of the Virtual Cricket Simulator was held on Friday at the visitors gallery of the Green Park in presence of commissioner Raj Shekhar, Ankit Singh Rajput (IPL player), cricket students of Green Park Sports Hostel and other sports department officers All of them played and tested working of the virtual cricket simulator.
The significant features of VCS are that it has two machines and two nets for practising and for entertainment purposes. It has a high-end simulator machine which can deliver balls at speed ranging from 40 km to 120 km. A player can play 18 balls in one game of 3 overs.
The whole VCS is computer controlled and is handled by the tablet PC. One could change all kinds of settings in the mobile APP on the tablet PC for the needs and requirements of players & gamers.
The commissioner said the testing was done successfully. The firm would take another 15- 20 days to finalize all kinds of settings and complete the work in the next one month.
This facility would be opened for public, cricket players and gamers on a nominal ticket basis by the selected private operator in the next two months, he added.
