Give Admission To Selected Poor Boys: Mayor To City’s Schools | Kanpur News

Kanpur: Mayor Pramila Pandey on Monday came down heavily against the public schools which are not giving admissions to selected poor boys under the right to education and warned them of strict action if they failed to allow them to join schools.
She summoned Basic Shiksha Adhikari Surjeet Singh at her office and asked him what action he had taken against the convent schools which were admitting poor boys.
The BSA informed her that a list was being prepared of around 350 convent schools which were not allowing admission of poor boys.
The mayor asked the BSA to issue notices to these 350 schools and ask them why they had not admitted poor boys in their schools. “Cancel the registration of these school if they fail to give a proper reply”, she told the BSA. The mayor had received complaints that convent schools of the city were not giving admissions to the poor boys who had been selected for pursuing studies in public schools. tnn
