Kanpur: To meet the demands of the digital era, CSJMU has launched digital journalism course. Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice-Chancellor, CSJM University said that digital journalism is the need of today’s world and CSJMU understand this need very well.
“The department of journalism and mass communication has started a new digital journalism course. The aim of the digital journalism course at CSJMU is to enhance the skills of their students by teaching them about digital tools and techniques”, said Prof Pathak. He further said that Corona pandemic played a very crucial role in digital learning. “The teachers who were not much familiar with online tools and techniques are now the professionals”, he said.
University’s Media-in charge Vishal Sharma said that CSJMU wants to develop Digital journalists. “We teach them how to compile videos, audios, images, and graphics together into a compelling, brief multimedia articles, or “packages” as they are known in newspeak, for broadcast or the online. It’s also becoming common for journalists to be able to use the appropriate post-production software to add graphics and improve video and sound.”
Department of journalism and mass communication started M.A in digital journalism which has 30 seats. After pursuing this course, Students can go into the field of Digital Content Writing, Digital Photojournalism. They can also work as Digital Graphic Artist, Broadcast Reporters, Media Mangers and Digital Marketing Experts.
