Csjmu Organises Yoga Programme | Kanpur News

Kanpur: In celebration of International Yoga Day 2022, Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University hosted a programme on Friday. The Department of Physical Education and the School of Health Sciences of CSJM University collaborated in this programme.
Yoga for Humanity was the topic of the programme. A memorandum of understanding was signed between CSJMU and Mokshayatan international to promote Yoga. The programme’s chief guest, Padamshri Awardee Swami Bharat Bhushan, expressed his happiness and appreciation for CSJMU and said that excellent teachers are never satisfied with what they already know and are constantly seeking new knowledge.
He responded to inquiries from students on Yoga after his address.Special Guest and Pro Vice-chancellor Professor Sudhir Kumar Awasthi introduced Swami Bharat Bhushan through his speech and said that Swamiji is the founder and chairman of ‘Mokshayatan International Yogashram’, Saharanpur.
Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak, the vice-chancellor of CSJMU said that CSJMU would develop new Yoga courses to encourage individuals to practise Yoga. Special guest and Ayurveda acharya Dr Vandana Pathak said that Yoga keeps our body and mind healthy.Regular Yoga practice enhances our cognitive, spiritual, and physical abilities.
During the programme, 46 participants of 108 Surya Namaskars competition, 74 participants from the ‘Yogasan Sports Competition’, and 95 participants from the Monthly Yoga Session received certificates and winners among them received medals and momento. Students from 13 colleges and institutes participated in the Yogasan sports competition.
