Majestic Legend Sports Pvt Ltd is organizing the event ‘Road Safety World Series’. All the matches will be played in Kanpur.
The organizers of the event–Jaideep Marar, Anas Baqai and Kavita Edgar on Wednesday held a meeting with the district administration officials, including the district magistrate and discussed the proposed cricket tournament.
Head, corporate affairs in Majestic Legend Sports Anas Baqai talking to TOI stated that this was the second season and the beginning of the event would take place in Kanpur. Legend’s and veteran cricketers of India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand and BanglaDesh would be taking part in it.
The organizers informed the officials that 7 matches would be played at Green Park between September 10 and September 15. District magistrate Vishak G Iyer asked the organizers to ensure all security standards by coordinating with the police at the local level. Moreover, no-objection certificates should be obtained within time from the departments such as power, security and PWD, the DM said.
He directed the Kanpur Municipal Corporation to sanitize and clean the stadium before the event starts. The joint police commissioner directed the police to ensure security arrangements which they had made during the India Vs New Zealand held in the Green Park earlier. Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar will unveil the event in Mumbai and Sunil Gavaskar is the brand ambassador of the event, Anas Baqai said.
The proposed dates and the matches are:
September 10-India Vs South Africa
September 11- England Vs West Indies and Sri Lanka Vs Australia
September 12- New Zealand Vs South Africa
September 13- England Vs Sri Lanka,
September 14- India Vs West Indies
September 15-BanglaDesh Vs New Zealand.
