Court Rejects Bail Applications Of Kanpur June 3 Violence Accused | Kanpur News


Kanpur: Additional sessions judge (XVI) Kanpur Nagar Jitendra Kumar Dwivedi on Thursday rejected the anticipatory bail application of Aqil Khichadi, a resident of Gammu Khan ka Hata and the regular bail applications of four more accused who too have been charged by the police under sections 147/148/149/307/323/332/333/336/353/427/504/506/120-B of IPC and section of 7 of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act and 3/4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act,1984 in the June 3 Nai Sarak violence.
The four accused whose regular bail applications were rejected were Shamim Paanwala, Mohd Kaif,,Azeem @ Azeem Shukla, Mohd Shahid and Sunny.
According to ADGC Dinesh Agarwal, Aqil Khichadi, a history-sheeter, was close to the D-2 gang. He had received Rs 4 lakh from one Afzal to arrange firearms and ammunition and assemble other offenders to attack the residents of Chandreshwar Hata, the only Hindu locality in the area. He had filed his anticipatory bail in case crime no. 42 of 2022.
Special public prosecutor Pankaj Tripathi narrated the role of another accused Azeem alias Azeem Shukla.
Earlier, Azeem’s counsel had pleaded that his client was “Police Mitra (helper of police) and in his support presented a photograph in which he was with the police commissioner. The special prosecutor told the court that Azeem had actually helped and assisted the rioters in the role of a ‘Police Mitra’. The court, after going through the evidence on record, rejected their applications with an observation that there was no sufficient ground to grant them bail hence the bail applications were being rejected.
