Court Extends Judicial Custody Of Perfume Trader Till September 9 | Kanpur News

Kanpur: Special chief judicial magistrate court Kanpur Nagar on Wednesday extended the judicial custody remand of perfume trader Piyush Kumar Jain in the Rs 197 crore recovery case till September 9. The perfume trader is facing two cases at present. The second case is regarding recovery of around 23 kg of gold bars. In that case, the Allahabad high court had already granted bail to Piyush Jain and the local court had already sent the release memo to the jail after completing all necessary formalities. He will remain in jail because the court has not granted him bail in the cash recovery case.
According to special prosecutor Ambarish Tandon, as both the cases will be tried simultaneously, the court of special chief judicial magistrate has fixed September 7 in the gold recovery case too.
The Allahabad high court had heard Piyush’s bail application in the cash recovery case which was opposed by the DGGI Ahmedabad on August 1, and thereafter the bench kept the order reserved. The Allahabad high court had granted bail to the perfume trader on July 27 asking him to furnish a bank guarantee of Rs one crore and two sureties of Rs 20 lakhs each.
