City Mayor To Take Part In The All-india Meet In Chhattisgarh Tomorrow | Kanpur News

Kanpur: Mayor Pramila Pandey, on Thursday, said that she would be participating in the All India Mayor council meeting slated to be held at Raipur in Chhattisgarh from August 27. Around 65 mayors from all over India are expected to take part in the meet which would be inaugurated by the chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.
While talking to the reporters, she said, “Main focus would be on one country and one constitution. That would make possible to make municipal corporations work better and make them responsible. All passed proposals would be handed over to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” she said.
Mayor council’s last meeting was held in Kanpur on May 13 and 14 in Kanpur where proposals regarding the enhancement of rights of municipal corporation and enforcement of 74th amendment were passed. During the Raipur meet, mayors would discuss the scheme’s execution and anomalies in detail.
Earlier, she visited the Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where she found two patients lying on one bed in the medicine ward. Annoyed over this, the mayor directed principal GSVM medical college Sanjay Kala to allocate one bed to each patient. She also went to the neurology department and interacted with the patients and asked about their health and availability of medicines. Thereafter the mayor visited the pathology and blood bank. She later asked the principal to display the vacant bed details so that the needy patients do not face any problem.
She also made an appeal to the patients and their kin to drink boiled water and to not let stagnant water accumulate at a place to check vector-borne diseases. She said, in case of dysentery, one should immediately start taking ORS solutions and consult the doctor.
