bpsc: Cdpo Exam Held Under Tight Security | Patna News

PATNA: The BPSC child development project officers’ (CDPO) preliminary examination was held peacefully at all the 320 centres across the state under tight security arrangements on Sunday. The authorities took all the precautionary measures to prevent paper leak in the light of last Sunday’s paper leak in the BPSC 67th combined civil services examination leading to the cancellation of the entire examination.
Two examinees, one each at Swami Vivekanand Public School centre in Bhagalpur district and CM Arts College centre at Darbhanga were caught carrying mobile phones with them at the examination centre. “Both of them were expelled and an FIR was lodged against them,” said BPSC examination controller Amarendra Kumar.
Heavy police bandobast was made at each examination centre and the senior law and order officials were on constant vigil throughout the conduct of examination. As many as 1.82 lakh candidates had applied for the examination, but only about 50 to 55 percent of them appeared at the examination, said Kumar.
The examinees were allowed entry inside the examination centre after their thorough frisking by the police and the magistrates at the entrance gate. A large number of women constables were posted at all the centres as a vast majority of the examinees were women.
The controller said sealed question packets kept in strong rooms were opened after 11.30 am in presence of police and magistrates and under videography. No examination personnel or law and order official was allowed to use his or her cellphone in the strong room. CCTV had been installed at all the strategic points at examination centres.
Earlier, on May 12, the chief secretary and BPSC chairman had given necessary directions to all the district officials for the smooth and fair conduct of examinations.
At Patna, altogether 55 magistrates, including 15 zonal magistrates, were deputed to ensure fair conduct of examination at all the 32 centers of examination.
