Boat Club To Be Dedicated To Nation After Trial On June 25 | Kanpur News


Kanpur: Kanpur will soon be a water sports and tourist hub. For this a trial will be held at the Boat Club in Ganga Barrage on June 25 after which the club would be dedicated to the nation.
Divisional commissioner Raj Shekhar, who is also president of the Boat Club Committee informed that during the trials, raft boat march past, tourist ride on dragon motor boat, thrilling race events of canoeing, kayak and rowing boats, water skiing, march past of all boats on PAC tune, Ganga Aarti and musical a programme will be organized in a token form.
He said the Boat Club will bring a thrill in the development of the city. “The 2007 project is now complete, which is a completely different type of project”, he said.
“From time to time national level institutions were consulted and their experts were invited to Kanpur to make it a world class club. It was constructed with the help of Kanpur Development Authority and the irrigation department. In the coming days, the club will be managed and run by the experts”, he added.
Neeraj Srivastava, who had played a significant role in this project, said that the trials would be held with the active cooperation of Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association, Indian Rowing Association and UP Kayaking Canoeing Association. The trials would begin at 4 pm on the due date and conclude at 7.30 pm, he said.
