‘bjp Is Betraying Nation With Agnipath Scheme’ | Kanpur News

KANPUR: Former chief minister and SP national president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday attacked the BJP and said that a decision to introduce Agnipath and Agniveer schemes was taken to betray the nation.
The SP chief, who reached Kannauj on Tuesday to pay tributes to district general secretary of the party late Ram Prakash Shakya, who had passed away recently said, “With this decision, the government has shattered the dreams of the sons of the poor farmers”. The SP opposes such ‘reforms’ of the BJP, he added.
Questioning the decisions of ‘reforms’ of the BJP government, Akhilesh said, “Preparations are being made to make youth of the country the watchmen of industrialists by giving them temporary jobs. The BJP government has brought this scheme at the behest of industrialists”.
Government has prepared a plan to prepare trained people to protect industrialists and their empires”, he added.
Talking to the media, he said that not only the youth, all people of the country are opposing Agnipath and Agniveer schemes.
“This is an attempt to outsource the Army. People join the Army to serve the country. The sons of poor farmers work hard day and night to fulfil their dream of getting a job in the Army but the government has shattered their dreams”, Akhilesh alleged and added youth has the zeal to wear army uniform and serve their country but the government is making the Army’s job temporary just to save the budget.
When asked about the prospects of SP in the byelections being held in Azamgarh and Rampur, he said that SP would win both the seats with a huge margin.
“The BJP government, instead of spreading communal hatred among the people should first serve the ex-servicmen”, he said.
