KANPUR: Additional chief secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi on Saturday reached Jalaun, where he inspected Bundelkhand Expressway-the dream project of chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Later, Awasthi also held a review meeting with the district officials of Jalaun and UPEIDA officials.
The work of Bundelkhand Expressway to be built from Chitrakoot to Auraiya-Etawah district is almost complete. Additional chief secretary (Home) Avnish Kumar Awasthi said that the project of Bundelkhand Expressway was to be completed in 36 months. “However, it has been completed eight months before the stipulated time frame. It takes six to seven years to build any bridge. But this project has been completed ahead of the given time frame, it is a big achievement of the state. Almost, 97 percent of the work of the expressway has been completed,” he said.
He further said that in the second week of July, the Expressway will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Instructing the officials, he said that the PM will inaugurate the Bundelkhand Expressway in the month of July. “Therefore, the unfinished works should be completed as soon as possible,” he said.
DM Jalaun Anurag Patel, SP Abhinandan, UPEIDA officials were present on this occasion. The Bundelkhand Expressway’s total length is 280 km, which will directly connect the people of Bundelkhand with Delhi. “It will connect Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jhansi, Jalaun, Auraiya and Etawah districts,” informed officials further.
