Anoop Shukla, Hemant Tiwari Win Top Kba Posts | Kanpur News


Kanpur: Anoop Shukla and Hemant Tiwari have been elected as senior and junior vice- presidents, respectively, in the annual general election of the Kanpur Bar Association (KBA).
The elders’ committee, which conducted the elections, declared a few results on Thursday after day-long counting. Anoop Shukla emerged as winner of senior vice-president obtaining 680 votes. He defeated his nearest rival Vijay Shankar Rawat, who secured 548 votes. Hemant Tiwari was elected for the post of junior vice-president. He secured 1,748 votes and defeated his nearest rival Sanjeev Kannaujia by a margin of 121 votes. Kannaujia got support of 1,627 advocate members.
Jagendra Swarup Awasthi was declared elected for the post of joint secretary publication. He secured 1,740 votes and defeated his nearest rival Rahul Gupta by a margin of 119 votes. Rahul got 1,621 votes. Hari Krishna Shukla won post of joint secretary (library). He secured 812 votes and defeated his nearest rival Priti Tripathi by 60 votes. Priti Tripathi obtained 752 votes.
Sukarn Singh Chauhan grabbed another key post of treasurer. He obtained 816 votes and defeated his nearest rival Nagesh Chandra Tripathi, who got 665 votes. Ajay Pratap Singh was elected for the post of secretary He secured 1,076 votes, defeating Shishir Kumar Pandey by 107 votes.
The elders’ committee had already announced the result of two key posts — president and general secretary — on Wednesday. Both the winners visited the court campus to thank the advocate members. Several advocates visited their chambers to congratulate them. There they offered them sweets and sought their blessings. Other winners too followed their seniors and visited the court campus to seek blessings and offer thanks to colleagues.
