akhilesh: I Sacrificed My Party To Defeat Bjp, Make Akhilesh Cm Again: Shivpal | Kanpur News

Kanpur: Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSPL) chief Shivpal Yadav on Tuesday said that for defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and making Akhilesh Yadav (Samajwadi Party chief) the next chief minister (CM) of the state, he sacrificed his party (PSPL).
“You all have seen that initially, we had even announced 100 candidates, but over the voice of the people, sacrificed our party (PSPL) and went for an alliance only to defeat the BJP and make Akhilesh next CM of Uttar Pradesh,” said Shivpal while addressing people in Jaswantnagar, Etawah from where he is contesting on ‘Cycle’ (SP poll symbol) as SP-PSPL joint candidate. He added, “Hum logo ki baat-cheet jab Samajwadi Party se shuru hui thi, tab hum logo ne kaha tha ki hamare jeetne wale candidates ko ticket de dena, aur agar sameeksha hoti to hamare 20-25 pratyashi chunav jeetne ki sthiti me the. Ab hamare paas sirf Jaswantnagar hai, par isse hame koi farq nahi padta hai (When our talks had started with SP, then we had asked to give tickets to the winning candidates, and if the analysis was done then also our 20-25 candidates would have been in a position to win the election. However, now we have only Jaswantnagar with us. But it hardly matters and I agree with this too).” “We believe that all 403 seats are ours, we have also conveyed the same to our people, who are in the PSPL, to defeat BJP and make all the alliance candidates win, so that Akhilesh sits on the chief minister’s chair again,” Shivpal further said, and added, “I have also asked the party workers to get me to win from Jaswantnagar assembly by a record margin of votes, and the margin of votes should be highest in UP.”
Shivpal said that in every family, he will give a government job to a son or a daughter. “The boys who are unemployed will be provided Rs 5 lakh each from the treasury of Adani-Ambani for employment,” he said.
Later, while being questioned by media persons over Chief Miister Yogi Adityanath’s ‘tamanchawadi’ remark on SP, he said, “We have never been in favour of terrorism or hooliganism.”
When questioned over the delay in patching up with his nephew Akhilesh Yadav, Shivpal said, “See, we were speaking from the beginning, but some people create misunderstandings somewhere, so it takes some time to clear the misunderstanding.”
Over SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav joining BJP, Shivpal, however, said, “Aparna’s ideology was different from the beginning and everybody knows this.”
On being asked whether Akhilesh is following the footsteps of his father Mulayam Singh, he said, “Now Akhilesh has become very mature. After all he’s been twice MP and one-time CM. And now, we are together and together we are soon going to do election campaigning with him (Akhilesh).”
