7-yr-old Boy Dies As School Main Gate Collapses On Him | Kanpur News

Kanpur: A seven-year-old boy died after the main gate of a private school at Adampur Faizullah Nagar village under Auras police limits in Unnao district collapsed on him on Thursday.
However, police have booked the school manager under Section 304 (A) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Reportedly, Class-I student Rudra Pratap, son of Dhruv Kumar of Inayatpur Barra village, was playing with other children near the gate after school hours on Thursday afternoon when the incident took place. They were swinging on the gate when its pillar collapsed and fell on them. While other children managed to escape, Rudra suffered grievous injuries.
Soon after, the children raised an alarm, following which the school staff rushed the injured boy to the community health centre (CHC) in Auras, where Rudra was declared brought dead. Palpable tension prevailed in the area following the minor boy’s death as his parents along with several villagers resorted to a protest on the school premises demanding strict action against the concerned authorities and compensation. They also staged a blockade on Sandila-Chakalvanshi road disrupting vehicular movements for a while. Rudra’s father Dhruv and mother Shilpa demanded immediate arrest of school manager Sunil Kumar and his wife and Principal Shashiprabha for the mishap.
A team from Auras police station led by Inspector Raj Kumar reached the spot, initiated an inquiry and sent the body for post-mortem. The agitators withdrew the road blockade when the cops assured them that the school manager had been taken into custody after being booked under the section 304 (A) of IPC.
Later, last rites of the deceased were performed on the village outskirts in presence of police personnel.
