5 City Schools Lead In Chess Championship | Kanpur News


Kanpur: Allen House Khalasi Line, KDMA Barra, Shri Ram Public School Kidwai Nagar, Nurture International Kalyanpur and Shri Sanatan Dharma School are leading with 4 points after two rounds in KSS junior school chess championship being held at Guru Nanak Modern School Kalyanpur here on Tuesday.
As many as 130 chess players from 26 CBSE schools are participating in the three-day championship which will be held in a six round Swiss system. Preeti Dhawan, principal, Chintel Schools Kalyanpur, as observer, Murlidharan, principal Army School, Balwindar Singh and Dilip Srivastava, secretary, Kanpur Chess Association were present on the occasion at the inaugural ceremony. Vivek Awasthi, academic coordinator, Guru Nanak School welcomed the guests and presented them with saplings. Harish Rastogi and Kusum Sharma are the chief arbiter and deputy chief arbiter respectively of this event. Kamal Khemani, Anil Bajpai and Sunny Mathew are assistant arbiters. tnn
